I-THE GODS

The Greeks believed the fact that Earth was here prior to the gods; the gods did not create the universe, instead the universe made the gods. Hence the heaven and earth were the initially parents, after them came up the giants, and subsequent them arrived the gods and goddesses. The titans were considered to be big associated with great strength. The one ti (symbol) who over-ruled the rest was Cornus, also called Saturn. He reigned right up until Zeus- his son dethroned him. Zeus was amongst the twelve Olympians, the different eleven included his two brothers: Poseidon, and Hades, their sis: Hestia, Hera, Ares, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis, And Hephaestus. Much of the misguided beliefs that include these characters have been set up in the " Iliad" and the " odyssey". These gods experienced animals and cities that they identified themselves with, for example , the goddess' Aphrodite's shrub happened to be the myrtle, and her bird the ove, occasionally the sparrow as well as the swan. Apart from the Olympians, there are the ‘lesser gods of Olympus' these included the god of love-Eros (cupid), iris, Hebe, and the two bands of lovely siblings: the Muses and the Graces. In addition to the gods that reigned in the large place of Olympus, there were " the gods of the waters" and " the gods of the underworld". Others included " the lesser gods of the earth" and " the both roman gods". During these five groups, there are around fifty-five gods and goddesses that would fall under one of these categories. These two gods represented male fertility, fruitfulness, and, productivity. Demeter's festival happened on September, every five years to get nine days. Demeter had an only little girl, Persephone, who was taken in to the underworld by Zeus's sibling, Hades. Her mother was greatly saddened, and because of these, she provided no fresh fruit to Earth, in effect to that, Zeus told his brother to return her daughter to Demeter, but later the two agreed on permitting her type in the underworld four months at any time year, and that is when Demeter holds back the fruits of the the planet. In the other hand, there is Dionysus the goodness of the wine beverage, who was the sole god whose parents were not both divine beings. Dionysus had two aspects having been a joy-god but also a heartless the almighty; because wine beverage is the two joy of men, just about all gets all of them drunk. Dionysus was privileged with a theater festival each year and those who he was worshipped by, wrote poems and plays in honor of him. He was celebrated to get dying and rising once again; for dr. murphy is the vine that is certainly broken in the wintertime and seems as unable to bear fruits, but soon after, brings forth fruits. The Greeks personified everything, including the heaven and earth. Mother Earth and Daddy Heaven developed the initial creatures with 100 hands each and 50 mind; others had been called Cyclops because they only acquired one attention in the middle of their particular foreheads, then came the titans, and the Erinyes who have punished evildoers. One bank account of the creation, is that the titan, Epimetheus offered the animals all the best items and features, leaving the humans with nothing, following doing so, having been disappointed, and its when his brother, Prometheus who was incredibly wise, produced humans within an upright location just like the gods. Although, one other story tells us that the gods themselves created men. This is actually the myth of the " five ages" in which it says that the gods created the golden race; shortly after they built the silver race that was poor to the precious metal race; they'd little intelligence. Following all of them came the race of brass, just read was violent men, who cherished war, and with their very own hands, these were destroyed. The fourth race was made up of godlike heroes; they will fought superb wars, and went on activities. The contest that dominates today may be the iron race; they live...
